Templates of Lotus Notes help organize your business.
By adding SMS functionality to the email application you will
gain an effective tool for organizing.
With this solution you can forward information received or sent
via email in SMS text messages. The body of these received and sent emails will be forwarded
as SMS messages to one or more recipients. Ozeki NG SMS Gateway provides the
SMS functionality for Lotus Notes.
Solution prerequisites
When you decide to setup this solution, in order to send/receive
SMS messages you will need to connect your system to the mobile network. For
this purpose you have the following connection options: Internet connection or
you can use a GSM modem/GSM phone to setup a wireless connection. If you need more

Depending on what you select, you need the following prerequisites:
Internet based connection to the Mobile network
If you wish to connect your system to an SMS service provider over the Internet you need the following components:

For setting up Internet based connection (IP SMS connection)
you need to find an SMS service provider that is able to reach the mobile phones
in your area. This SMS service provider should be able to provide SMS service through
the Internet. To find such a provider, you can check our
website where we list some of them:
SMPP SMS Service providers.
Once you have found such a provider, you need to sign up for
their service to get the connection parameters. You can use these parameters
to configure your Ozeki NG SMS Gateway software.
Wireless (GSM modem) connection to the Mobile network
If you wish to connect your system to the mobile network wirelessly, you need a GSM modem or GSM phone that you can attach to your computer with a data cable. In this case your Ozeki NG SMS Gateway software will operate this phone and will send and receive SMS messages wirelessly. To setup this connection method, you need the following components:

How the SMS system works
After setting up this solution, SMS messages will travel from Lotus Notes to the mobile phones via Ozeki NG SMS Gateway. You can compose a message in Lotus Notes or you can send your received email as an SMS message to even more recipients. Ozeki NG SMS Gateway reads it, processes it and forwards it to the mobile phones of the given recipients. The SMS gateway uses a HTTP request for this process. You can examine this process in Figure 2.

Configuration guide for Lotus Notes SMS
To send SMS from the email application of Lotus Notes you just need to follow these instructions.
First you need to install OzMail.ntf:
If you finish the installation, you need to refresh
the old email template. You need to do this in a way that data should
remain unchanged:
1. To do so copy this Ozeki mail template into
C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Domino\data folder.
2. The template needs to be signed by the
Administrator. To sign it, go to Files pane of Administrator, right
click on the template and click on Sign.
3. Next go to Properties of the
template and select the Design pane. Here check Database file is a
master template box and type OzMail in Template Name line.
4. After
this, open the properties of the older database. Select Design pane and
check the Inherit design from master template field. Type OzMail in
the Template Name line.
5. Finally, go to File/Application/Refresh and click
on Design option in the menu.
Before you send SMS you need to make some settings. You need to provide
the address of Ozeki NG SMS Gateway and the user data also.
